Relay For Life "The Spirit of Giving Benefit Auction"

The Pre-SCRIPT Society is forming a team for Relay for Life next semester. Relay for Life is an annual celebration of survivorship to raise money for the American Cancer Society. It is an overnight event where team members take turns walking or running laps, keeping at least one member of the team on the track at all times. This is a big tradition for student organizations at UNM, and we want the Pre-SCRIPT Society to make its presence felt this year, while allowing us a chance to get to know other members from the society! It is also a great way to get volunteer hours. This event will be held on Johnson Field starting at 6:00 PM on Friday April 24th, 2009. You can sign up to be a member of your Pre-SCRIPT team from our web page: www.unmprepharm.com ; on the right, click on “Join Relay for Life.” Please contact any of the board members if you have questions.
The society will begin to fundraise for Relay for Life this semester via the Spirit of Giving Benefit Auction. This is something that has been completely organized by members of Pre-SCRIPT, solely to fundraise for our relay team. All proceeds from the auction will go to the American Cancer Society’s efforts in New Mexico.The Spirit of Giving Benefit Auction is an all day event from 12:00 PM-8:30 PM. The items that will be up for bid are all pieces that have been donated by UNM art students. The event will include a reception from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM with refreshments, flamenco dancing, and other entertainment. We will also set up an ornament tree to sell the origami ornaments for a $1 donation. (Thank you to all members that attended Origami Night!)
The event will be held in the Domenici Center on North Campus, across from the Health Sciences Library. You can help out by volunteering to set up the day before (December 18th from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM) and/or help out at the actual event on the 19th. Extra help will also be needed the night of the 19th to take everything down as well as help people collect their purchases. Faculty and Staff from UNM Main Campus and the College of Pharmacy will be attending so this is a great way to get your face out there! (If you plan to volunteer on Friday, please dress formally)
